Your home is more than just a place to live - it’s a reflection of who you are, your memories, your travels and the things that bring you joy. Here are a few ways to ensure your space feels uniquely yours:
Incorporate Meaningful Pieces – Whether it’s a cherished family heirloom or a travel souvenir, surrounding yourself with personal objects makes your home truly unique.

I have always loved picking pieces up when we are travelling as they serve as such a wonderful portal to the happy memories surrounding the item. There can of course be the exception when you are gifted a 'special' piece that really doesn't resonate with you or your style. You have to work a little harder on those items!
Blend Old & New – I always enjoy mixing antiques with modern design to create spaces with depth and character.
Keeping an eye on aution houses, charity shops and antique shops for a piece of antique is not only fun (it has become a slight obsession of mine!), but it also offers some beautifully made pieces at amazing prices. Not forgetting that it is also a more sustainable way of styling your home.
When working with clients I'm always on the look out for items they aready have that can be upcycled, reupholstered, etc rather than throwing out and starting again. A well-placed vintage item find can add instant charm.
Vintage/ antique items sit so well with more modern items - you can create a beautifully cohesive scheme working this way.

Be brave enough to say no – When we are starting out in our first homes, there can be lots of good intention from family and friends offering you their 'no longer needed' items. I've been on both ends of this in truth - it's great to offer a hand me down to clear some space!
However, space can be a better option than a room full of mismatched items that you don't really like. Take it slow. Making a home is not a race. It's expensive and it takes time and so be brave enough to build your home your way and to your taste.
Final snapshot - photographs of family, friends, pets are great hung on the walls creating unique personality without killing the budget. You can easily update these if you want to refresh the look.
